Donations for Syria & Turkey
Dear parents and carers,
We are very proud of our pupils and their response to the late-notice non-uniform day to raise funds for the aid efforts in Turkey and Syria via the British Red Cross.
You will have seen in the news that thousands have died, and many more thousands have been made homeless by the Earthquake. Our pupils and staff are therefore very keen to do more, and we have an opportunity to offer further assistance.
A parent who is part of the Kurdish community is able to arrange for donations to be transported to Turkey, and we are therefore seeking donations that could help.
Although school is closed to pupils tomorrow, staff will be onsite for an INSET day. We have therefore agreed to use the school as a drop-off point for any donations you may have. These donations will be collected from school tomorrow evening so that they can begin the journey to Turkey.
In particular, it has been suggested that the following items would be helpful and very welcome. If you feel able to donate, please drop your donation at school tomorrow before 4pm. We will discuss whether an additional opportunity to donate is required after half-term and send out further information.
We will also seek out ways we can get aid and support to the many thousands of people affected in Syria.
Suggested Donation Items:
- Nappies (any size)
