NGA Closed to Year 9 Pupils
Nottingham Girls' Academy will be closed to pupils from Year 9 from Wednesday 14 October 2020.
Update: Friday 16 October 2020
We are anticipating levels of staff absence to remain high next week (week beginning 19 October 2020) and have therefore made the difficult and unfortunate decision to remain closed to Year 9 until after half term.
They should return to school on Monday 2 November 2020.
More details can be found here: Principal’s Letter to Parents, 16 October 2020
Announcement: Wednesday 14 October 2020
Due to high levels of staff absence - largely as a result of Test and Trace notifications - we have had to make the decision to close to Year 9 pupils for the rest of this week.
We are really sorry to have to make this decision -at such late notice - and fully appreciate that further disruption to learning is the last thing that our pupils need.
This is NOT an instruction for Year 9 pupils to self-isolate and, as a result, we are hopeful that staffing levels will allow us to reopen to the year group next week. We will send Year 9 parents and carers an update on Friday.
Home Learning
Year 9 pupils should access their lessons via Teams (please see the Home Learning Hub for details). Wherever possible, teachers will be delivering live lessons in accordance with the normal Year 9 timetable.
Laptops
We are already in the process of arranging delivery of additional laptops that we will be able to loan to pupils who have to learn from home. However, it is unlikely these will be available this week.
Pupils will be able to access Teams through any device that has internet access: laptop, tablet, and smartphone.
FSM
For those pupils entitled to Free School Meals, we will be in touch to to arrange supermarket vouchers. We are currently able to supply them for wither Tesco or Morrisons.
